pre-op photos

I asked my husband if he would mind if I put pics up here with me in my undies. He didn't object, heck he even took them, so here we go!

(pics removed b/c i am applying for a new job and i'm sure they will google me)
This is my pre-op body. We took these the morning of surgery. My weight at surgery was 313lbs. My skin is severely stretched from when I was pregnant and had pre-eclampsia. Ugh-- too many stretch marks. Additionally, my post-baby-body has a horrible flap of skin hanging down around my whoo-haa. That will be the first thing to be lopped off after I reach my goal weight.

My weight at my last appointment with the surgeon was 320 so down 7 lbs pre-surgery.

My first mini-goal is to be below 300 within 2 weeks of surgery. As of today, 2 days post-op, I am down to 308 so it looks like I am well on my way to meeting that first goal! I haven't weighed less than 300 lbs since I was pregnant with Aidan. It will be such a relief just to be back in the 2s!!

Also wanted to throw in a picture of my incisions. I have 3 small and 1 medium.

  1. Your incisions looks good, seems to be going smooth so congrats! I think that under 300 is a realistic goal for you. most people seem to lose around 10 the first few wks after surg, depending on what their surgeon has them eating post op. You probably won't feel "hungry" for about 2 wks, so take full advantage of that!!! Week 2-6 are the hardest, so just mentally prepare yourself for that.

  2. You are so awesome for posting your pics! Way to go. Can't wait till you start posting "afters," or at least "durings!"

Don't worry, I started off at a lower weight, but after 4 babies, my lower tummy is a total wreck. I am counting on PS in the future!

  3. Great of you to post in your undies and bra - I don't think I could have been that brave (and I have a husband that would have gone.. Oh, I DONT THINK so!! lol)
You are just starting the most exciting journey (blech..there's that word .. but couldn't think of another to replace it) and it's going to be amazing for you. I sit here writing this feeling excited FOR you because I remember what it was like right at the start when the weight starts falling off. It's not going to be all sunshine and roses but by God it's a battle you will take on with relish.
Your tummy is healing well.. congrats on the surgery and looking forward to more pics!!

  4. For realz! I am so glad you posted these pictures because they will be great to compare them with you "I now weigh less and am looking super fly pictures". For me, I think I took my first comparison pictures about 40 pounds down...thats when I could start telling a difference!

  5. Yeah, those before and afters can be a life saver when you're stuck weight wise and you need to see irrefutable physical proof that you've lost weight.

And I had to chuckle, our tummies could be cousins, mine looks exactly the same :-)
